The minimally invasive alternative to open surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome requires profound knowledge of special sonography and experienced skills in ultrasound-assisted intervention. It was developed in the adapted form at the University Clinic for Radiology in Innsbruck, Austria. In the south of Austria, the Federal Hospital of Villach has established this innovative method.
